I was born in a multi-linguistic family (UK, DE, NL) and i grew up in Spain, studied English and French for 8 years; later i also lived in France for 2 years, Belgium 1 year, England 3 years and finally i came to China where I have been the last 10 years).

Currently doing post grade studies of History and History of Art and Upgrading to GRADE in Tourism

Aug 2020 – April 2021 European Master in early childhood education for teachers with Euroninnova, Spain including also: Specialist in Children’s relaxation methods & Children’s Psychology  &  Childhood education & Children’s Tales Techniques at University Antonio de Nebrija (20 ECTS), Spain

2017-2018  obtained a TRIPLE MASTER in Restaurant, Bar and Pub Management

1982-1985 Diploma in Tourism Management in English, French and German in the “Tourism Management Faculty” of the University of Málaga (Spain) 

1976-1981 Bachelor in Philology and Philosophy at University of Málaga (Spain) Grade in Linguistics and Degree in Philosophy

2000-2004 Various on line courses about Internet and Software in the AEDAV (Association of Travel Agencies), e-marketing and e-promotion.

1986 June: Seminar about Quality of Tourism in the Official Tourism School Málaga.

1984 October, Seminar in Tourism -Marketing in the High School of Marketing and Finances in Málaga.

Other 6 seminars followed that first one about Marketing, Communication for global companies and sectors

June to October: Intensive course of advanced French in the “Federation Statale  de T.et T.C.2 <<Château de Valette>> “, in Pressigny Les Pins, France.

1982 Intensive English “Intermediate” course in the Anglo European School of English in Bournemouth (England). I passed Intermediate after only 1 month, afterwards I stayed in UK for 2 more years.

LANGUAGES

Spanish and German as bilingual, English and French fluently spoken and written, they also have been the languages I used for the past 20 years for communication, teaching, translating and for business, also Dutch and Italian spoken and learning Mandarin Chinese.

                                                         

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Since Aug 2014 I work as full time English teacher for adults and teenagers in WEB Intl. English in Xiamen, China, specialized in Business English. I do part time Spanish teaching in Vanya, Xiamen, and I also spend many hours doing translations (from 2016 per year I translated around 300,000 words related to Medicine and medical instrumental and Bio-Chemistry, 500,000 words related to Mechanics and Physics, mostly German to Spanish and 25% English to Spanish and French to Spanish).

Some other translations were about different products for automobiles and machines, user manuals for different machines, equipment for Gym, House and garden, some Gastronomic related translations as well as for Management and Business in general.

2010- 2014 I worked in Beijing at SYMBIO as LQA (Linguistic Quality Assurance Engineer) for PayPal and Nokia, doing localization and proofreading for them. Meanwhile I was  teaching one on one and small groups in English and Spanish.

I also was doing translations for different Software companies and translation companies.

2007-2009 I participated as Development Manager and Marketing Manager for INTERCON-Flourishing, a Language and Culture Centre in Beijing during 3 years, working as English teacher for small classes and Corporate English; also Spanish, German, French and cooking teacher (My hobby).

Since 2005 I worked as Language expert for MICROSOFT in Beijing. I also did proofreading and translations from English, German or French into Spanish for different Companies in China such as Worksoft, Lingua, Kingstar , Transn, Toptranslations, Impala…mostly doing translations for medical and biological products, also many software and IT related translations, mechanics related translations, Marketing, Ads., Tourism and different user manuals.

Also teaching English, Spanish, German and French.

1982-today I have worked mainly in Travel Agencies, Hotels and as freelance Translator in Spain, Germany, France and China. I specialized in translations of English, German and French into Spanish

1995 to 2000 I have been teaching English, Spanish, German and French in Málaga school of Languages in Malaga (Spain)

1981-1982 Freelance Translator for Universities in Spain, related to Biology, Medicine, Literature and Philosophy

1977-1978 Translator French to German in Laboratoire Botánique de Domaine Poulain, La Queue les Yvelines (France). Translator for Biologic products from Bayer from German into French, and translations from English to French and Spanish.
